It’s Nothing Personal
Litany of confession
[Bret Hesla 2016]

1. The environmental crisis is a corporate level sin, requiring a corporate level response.
Let us confess the sin of thinking and acting like global warming is only a personal action cause and lifestyle solution. Such errors in thinking lull us into holing up with our well-sorted compost containers, while the Exxons of the world lunge forward unregulated by government protections, gobbling up the earth, putting on profit like rolls of fat and excreting poisons and the poor.

May we not be too busy to hold the common good in mind.

2. Racism is a corporate level sin, requiring a corporate level response.
Let us confess the sin of thinking that racism is only a personal behavior, a personal prejudice to remedy. Such errors in thinking lull us into holing up with our well-crafted welcoming attitudes, while banks redline, old privilege based on stolen wealth goes un-redistributed, and the best hospitals remain in wealthy, and white neighborhoods.

May we not be too comfortable to hold the common good in mind.

3. Poverty [etc] add text here, same format
May we not be too tired to hold the common good in mind.

4. Hunger [etc] add text here, same format
May we not be too distracted to hold the common good in mind.
