Snow Day

Snow Day
Bret Hesla ©1999
(a spoken song, with gestures)

Quietly, quietly, quietly
the snow falls in the night.
Come, look, see
the blanket soft and white
gets deeper, deeper, deeper. (repeat)

SNOW DAY! (last time only)

It’s fun to do with a group of young children, or a big inter-generational crowd. The image is of a big snowfall that starts in the afternoon, continues all night. The deeper the snow gets, the quieter is the night (and the song). And finally, in the magical drifted-in silence of the morning–wahoo–school is called off. SNOW DAY!

The recording is from Ridgeway Community School (elementary) winter program, 1999.
