Steward’s Hymn

Steward’s Hymn

Ch: May we all be stewards of the earth,
May we tend our place among the whole.
Till plain old ditches enjoy the same regard
As high majestic peaks.

1. The sky, the atmosphere above us
The deep, the aquifers below
The very pillars of existence stand in peril.

2. The great things that we hold in common
Too often now are bought and sold.
And no, there is no app that can reverse extinction.

3. The seeds with parachutes are ready
Jamb-packed into the tiny dark.
They fly on summer breezes when the pod cracks open.

4. O Welcome of A Thousand Sparrows
O Host of Many Flavored Quarks
You’ve flyered every door & now your party’s waiting.
